Newborn Care

Chronic Illness Consultations
Chronic health conditions affect approximately 27% of children in the United States. A consultation with our physicians can provide the tools you need to help you and your child navigate and understand the best treatment plan for a chronic illness.
Well-Child Care
Children grow and change constantly, which is why well-child care is so important. During a well-child visit we monitor developmental factors, such as height, weight, hearing and vision in order to improve care and try to prevent any issues from arising. Well-child care continues into teenage years, providing a safe environment for the children to talk to their doctors about any issues or concerns.”
Asthma Consultations
Diagnosing and managing asthma in children can be difficult. In infants and young children, the primary symptoms of asthma such as wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath, may be caused by other conditions. For these reasons, the management of asthma in children and teenagers requires careful and relatively frequent monitoring. We can work with you to help minimize asthma symptoms with a written asthma action plan that helps you monitor symptoms and adjust treatment as necessary.
Autism
An important part of our regular checkup with your child is looking for signs of developmental delays, which may indicate Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you have any concerns about your child, at any time, please do not hesitate to let us know

Emergency Appointment
If an emergency should arise, please call 911. Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, respiratory distress, etc. In the case of minor emergencies (superficial lacerations, cuts, sprains), please call our office and we will work you into the schedule as expeditiously as possible to help you avoid an expensive ER visit.

The first time I came to see Dr. Emilia Gomez was for my first daughter. As a new mom, I had tons of questions and concerns. She answered everything I asked honestly and kindly. When I would bring my daughter for checkups she would remember her and details about her even though she had not seen her for a few months. Fast forward six years and I now have a second child who has seen Dr. Gomez and Dr. Emiliano Higuera. Dr. Gomez is still the kind woman I came in as a new mom. Dr. Higuera is amazing as well. He is so good with my girls. I wouldn’t take my kids anywhere else!

Fabulous pediatric office! We take both our kids to this office and love Dr. Higuera and his team. With a child on the autism spectrum and a pre-teen daughter, we have some communication challenges. Dr. Higuera has found a way to tap into both of my children and communicate with me as a parent as well. He is not pushy in his approach and the nursing staff is so wonderfully kind and patent. The office is quick to work with you, quick to get you in and has a great portal to check in on billing, diagnosis and prescriptions. I highly recommend their office!

Dr. Gomez is amazing! We have seen her for six years now. I am very picky and changed doctors over 10 times before finding her. She listens and cares about her patients and is one of the only doctors that I trust.
